Department of Conservation and Recreation

YOU Boston has enjoyed a long-standing transitional employment partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) dating back to 2007. Our collaboration allows youth employees to see and enjoy the land and facilities managed  by DCR while collaborating with their committed staff to contribute to the preservation and maintenance of these public treasures throughout the greater Boston area.

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), an agency of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, oversees 450,000 acres of parks and forests, beaches, bike trails, watersheds, dams, and parkways. Led by Commissioner Jack Murray, the agency’s mission is to protect, promote, and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
